I just got a guitar and i’m wanted to learn how to play some tegan and sara songs and i’m wondering what are some easy ones to start out with, that have simple chords and are kind of slow. any ideas? thanks

I searched YouTube for Tegan and Sara. “Divided” seems straightforward. The video in the link is a tutorial. The second link is the person’s chord sheet.

The simplified version of Hotel California is pretty easy, and it’s extremely good practice for chords and strumming patterns.

Nothing Else Matters by Metallica.

Dust in the Wind by Kansas (good for finger-picking practice)

Faith by George Michael.

That famous song by Sister Hazel (I forgot the title).

Plush by Stone Temple Pilots

Virtually anything by AC/DC (get the simplified version).

Uncle John’s Band by The Grateful Dead

Bad Moon Rising by (I forget)

Also, very good reminder here: Don’t worry about speed in the beginning of learning a new song. Focus on finger placement first, then transitions, and only *then* build up to playing at speed.

Im learning How To Play Guitar by myself. I have an acoustic and an electric with a small amp. What are some songs that are easy but that people will instantly recognize? Also something that would impress people but is still within my skill range? I’ve been playing for about a year now just by looking up guitar tabs for songs that i like, but I need some song suggestions. Can anyone help?

By the way, I have an acoustic and an electric but I want songs that are kind of acoustic-y, so make them sort of flowy and not too harsh. And I *can* sing, but I don’t want to.
