Go to http://yourguitarsage.com/ to find out how to get a chart to this song and 100s other songs!!! This guitar lesson vid shows you how to play Hallelujah, by Rufus Wainwright and written by Leonard Cohen. This was featured in Shrek. It shows you the chords, strumming technique and style. Check out http://yourguitarsage.com/ for info on my online instructional resources about charts, chords, strumming and the techniques that I use here in my videos.. For more Guitar Lessons, see my other free tutorials. For original and cover music by me, Erich, go to http://www.myspace.com/erichandreas . Since I’m so busy making new video tutuorial lessons all the time and teaching guitar, I probably won’t have time to answer individual questions regarding guitar. Other videos cover beginner, advanced and intermediate levels. I teach rock, blues, country and just about any other style on electric or acoustic. If you can’t find your answer from the resources at the website above, keep digging into my vids, and I’m sure you will find your answer. Keep practicing!!!

    @pjoach09 you could …
    @pjoach09 you could always play bar chords but if u don’t then yepp you should have to use the capo to get it to sound like that (: the jeff buckley version is easier and you don’t need a capo to play it. you can make your own capo, look it up (that might help) pencil and a rubber band should do the trick.

    @rikki2200: bm is …
    @rikki2200: bm is barring the second fret and then making an Am shape with your 2nd, 3rd and 4th fingers (i.e. 2nd finger, 2nd string 3rd fret from the capo, 3rd finger, 3rd string 4th fret and fourth finger fourth string fourth fret) takes a bit of getting used to, but you get there.

    @zombiemig – dáddarios are a dec3ent choice for beginner or if you wanna go fancy / expensive then get elixir nanoweb for about 13pounds, 20 dollars.

    happy playing

    not to rain on your …
    not to rain on your parade, but instead of playing the Bm, it should really be D#dim. should be easier to play for beginners (i’m guessing this video is aimed at beginners, anyway), too (apart from being the “correct” chord ;-) , if played with the root of the voicing on 1st fret od the “D”-string. besides that: good lesson, very intelligible.
