Huh? 12 bar blues is called that becuase of the number of bars in the round,(It contains on average three chords) not becuase of the chronological system of notes. But other than that I agree with you.

  13. cyphernyquist says:

    Blues and jaz are …
Blues and jaz are just different progressions and styles from the same system.that all music comes from. what he must have meant to say was that western Rock n Roll was born of the Blues.

  14. Vic3D says:

    Well, Blues was the …
Well, Blues was the start of the Western music system. Which is the system we use for pretty much every instrument except percussion. That’s why they call it 12-bar blues. There are 12 notes. A, A#, B, C, D, D#, E, F, F#, G and G#.

So YES, Blues are the beginning of OUR music system, but no it is NOT the beginning of music literally…

your music teacher sucks ass. there is no “first type of music ever”. If there was, blues would certainly not be the first as i’m pretty sure music existed before the enslavement of the blacks.

If there ever was a first type of music i would root for african traditional music.

caveman music turns into roman harps, which turns into beethoven rocking out, which ultimately led to freestyling jazz and other genres, finally leading to modern rock and metal
